"Torrential rain that began on Saturday night has caused flooding in central and southern parts of the country, damaging roads and forcing more than 500 people to evacuate..."Shelley Shan's report is today's headliner, and she's not wrong about that "torrential rain" - it was torrential. On Saturday night, I "evacuated" the three brothers among the five stray dogs at the park back to my apartment. Black & White evacuated herself of course, and so apparently did the new arrival (we're calling him "Cafe" 'cos he's brown). The three little lads all had to be washed and dried down and the whole place swept and mopped up this morning. There was a bit of light drizzle on Sunday, but other than that it was fine and dry and I spent a good two hours or so playing throw-the-ball with them back at the park yesterday afternoon.
On my last visit to Tseng-wen reservoir some weeks back, I was given a couple of phone numbers to call in regards to requesting permission to visit the reservoir during the next set of heavy rains in order to photograph the spillway in operation. I haven't called them yet, but since these latest rains didn't come until late at night, I probably wasn't missing out anyway.
