The Bird On My Balcony

She keeps coming back to my balcony in the early afternoon... but she is camera shy.

  1. So, what kind of bird is that, Mike? Inquiring minds want to know, but not for barbecuing purposes mind you.

  2. You know John, I spent an hour going through bird lists trying to find out! I know the Mandarin name, but not the English - though I suspect it's a Wagtail of some sort (it's about the right size). I took a few more pictures this afternoon at the park (it's a common bird) before I went to work so I'll have a look through later and upload a better one.

  3. Don't tax yourself searching for me, Mike, and be thankful that it isn't some type of Warbler, which I have a difficult time IDing even with a "Peterson's Field Guide" in my hand and the unidentified Warbler close at hand.

  4. John, I did the search before I put up the picture. Finding out the English name for this bird is a little thing that's been bugging me for a while. It's also really difficult to get a good shot of them that catches the light properly.
