Footie

I go through phases with football - sometimes watching it and following the news, and sometimes not paying attention for months at a stretch. And recently I have been watching only sporadically. Yet what a way to finish a season: Sunderland stay up by beating Everton 3-0 at home and thereby relegating Newcastle. Not bad at all! In the games that I have seen since January, that German lad in midfield - Kirchhoff - has been outstanding.

And Leicester winning the league - that's something else entirely, it really is. I recall reading somebody compare Leicester's title win to Blackburn's in 1995, but I don't think that's right at all. Blackburn spent an absolute fortune on players, and Leicester have done it on a few quid found down the back of the sofa. Unbelievable.
