And Here Comes 2016...

The first weekend of 2016 has brought miserable weather. I'd like to put off my field work until next weekend, but there is really no getting away with that.
  • A resolution: complete all remaining field work and finish the writing this year.
  • A prediction: for better or worse, Donald Trump is going to be the next U.S. president.
The resolution is one I can now make because - finally - it is realistic. There are only another five or six reservoirs to see (depending on which definition I choose), and minor bits and pieces of field work left to do at the others. However, there is a lot of writing still to be done.

The prediction is one I make because both the media and the other politicians are now obviously scared witless of him. The wavelength of over a decade of political correctness looks as though it's finally accumulating into something of a backlash.

I only wish it were a fucking Tsunami.
