To Get Ahead, Get A Hat...


I must have driven past this particular cop-shop out in Xinhua district a million times, but I didn't notice it until last weekend when I stopped for gas on the opposite side of the road. It looks like the sort of thing a kid would make out of lego-bricks.

What that picture only partially conveys however, is the size of the place - the building in the background with the white copper van parked outside is also part of the police station, and the building immediately behind The Hat extends back a fair distance.

I'm sure there are quite a few holding cells inside, but even so, I'm used to seeing cop-shops squeezed into daft little buildings on street corners, not something the size of a junior high school.
