Jason Lamantia's Letter

"The EPA will never be persuaded otherwise because you can’t reason someone out of a belief they never reasoned themselves into."
I'm surprised the Taipei Times published this. I read the same report about the Taiwan EPA's ridiculous anti barbecue nonsense that Lamantia did, but I didn't write anything since I was under the expectation that the Taipei Times would refuse to publish it anyway. Does the publication of Lamantia's letter mean that expectation was wrong?

Of course, it could just be that letters and articles by certain people will not be published.

  1. They probably want to give the impression that their readership is bigger than it is, and that they represent a more diverse collection of opinions than they actually do.

  2. Possibly, but take it from me Thoth - some of us have reason to believe otherwise.
